It’s now officially the Christmas season, and we in Scotland are gearing up for a month of winter festivities! So what do we have on this month? Well, frankly we’re all spoiled for choice. Markets, musicals, concerts and Christmas displays litter this month’s calendar. Here are some of the highlights:
In Aberdeen on the 19th of December we have the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. Of course, they will be performing a host of Christmas classics to get you into the festive spirit. Hurry though, tickets are selling fast! https://securetickets.boxofficeaberdeen.com/Online/mapSelect.asp
Each year people in Edinburgh and nearby eagerly await the opening of the European market. Dozens of stalls selling a fantastic array of food, drink, gifts, crafts and everything in between are set up in Princes Street Gardens throughout December. What’s more, an ice rink, fairground rides, and trees adorned with fairy lights bring the city to life until January 4th. Be sure to stop by if you’re in town!
If you love a bit of a sing-along then you’ll be delighted to hear the the internationally acclaimed musical Wicked is on the stage in Edinburgh this month. Follow the story of the Wicked Witch of the West and see for yourself why rave reviews have been thrown at this spectacular production (by adults and children alike!). Make your own lantern and join the group on a guided walk around the stunning lake south-west of Glasgow, taking in the views by candlelight and learning a little about the reverse along the way.
