I was kindly shown round THE ATHOLL, 11 Atholl Crescent, Edinburgh yesterday by Joanne of the JG Collection and I was very much impressed.
The property has a great city centre location and a general air of peace and calmness. The Atholl is very much about luxury: the size of the bedrooms, the large bathrooms, the quality and the overall feeling of being in a solid building with thick walls offering privacy and security.
We have all stayed in places, even with a high star rating, where you are able to hear next door’s TV, which is guaranteed to ruin most evenings. Although expensive at over £1,500 a night B&B, depending on the apartment, you will definitely get your money’s worth and much more privacy than a luxury suite in a big hotel could offer. Corporate meetings and private events are handled with quiet professionalism.
With its Inverlochy connections I should not have been surprised with the overall quality, wonderful artwork and comfortable furnishings. The different apartments each have a very different feel.
The Atholl spares no expense in offering visitors who appreciate quality a 24-hour personalised service. Private dining is provided by the legendary Albert Roux OBE, KFO of Le Gavroche, with in-suite service by a dedicated personal chef, and in-room wine cellars stocked with the world’s finest wines.
A wee word of caution to end on as there is a possibility of confusion that the name THE ATHOLL, 11 Atholl Crescent may be confused with the same named restaurant THE ATHOLL at the Howard Hotel which is also in Edinburgh.
