Had dinner at CAFE FISH the other night. It was really good and I would recommend it to you or your clients.
It was not as expensive as some of the better known Edinburgh Fish restaurants but every bit as good. It won the “SCOTTISH SEAFOOD RESTAURANT OF THE YEAR 2012” and we were not disappointed. Being a Wednesday evening in cold January there was a slight lack of atmosphere as they were not very busy, but the food and service more than made up for that.
The fish we had was lovely: I started with a Spiced Bloody Mary Oyster Shooter then had Hand Dived Skye Scallops with Cauliflower, Black Pudding and Sage Oil, which was fantastic. My main was Scrabster Monkfish & King Prawn Goan Curry. Others at the table enjoyed Pan Seared Sea Bass with Surf Clam-Mussel and Tarragon & Pea Tagliolini and Whole Baked Newhaven Mackerel.
Their “Bubbly Scot” and “Bubbly Nuts” cocktails were also very good.
Do go yourselves or send other people.
