When the clocks have changed and the nights are drawing in it’s tempting to curl up on the sofa with a good book. Before you do that you might want to visit Lennoxlove and expand your reading hoizons. From 1-3 November the 5th book festival takes place at Lennoxlove House in Haddington, East Lothian.
Lennoxlove House, home of the Duke of Hamilton, dates back to 1340 and was originally named Lethington Tower. It’s seen a long and varied history and is worth visiting on its own recognition. But add a weekend with a programme for book lovers of all ages and it would be a shame to miss it.
The programme for the weekend covers the whole gamut from children’s books through fiction, non-fiction and an evening of crime for the sleuths amongst you. Visiting authors include Patsy Kensit, Peter Snow, Richard Dawkins and Maggie O’Farrell amongst others.
